Engine
In order to increase the life of the engine, it is important to replace the oil regularly in order to avoid overheating. It is also important to perform periodic inspections to check for parts that are out of date, degraded, or cracked. If there are any unusual sounds during an engine start, it is necessary to do an inspection or make adjustments.
- Oil change: most important maintenance
- Oil leak inspection
- Noise inspection
- Water leakage inspection
Do you ever have any of these engine problems?
- Engine vibration
- Loss of engine power
- Unusual or inconsistent engine sounds
- Difficulties starting the engine or weak ignition
Timing Belt
Timing belts should be changed at either 60,000 or 90,000 miles. Since the belt that connects to the engine's crankshaft and camshaft is made of rubber, it should be replaced after it has degraded. There are also other parts relating to the timing belt. If there are any suspicious noises coming from the timing belt, it is important to replace it. In addition, it is also recommended to change the water pump at that time. We regularly check for water leaks.
- Idler bearing
- Tension bearing
- Camshaft seal
- Crankshaft seal
- Balance shaft seal
- Oil pump shaft seal
(this component is made of rubber and will degrade over time, which weakens the intake and the oil will no longer hold, so it also needs to be replaced) - Drive belt check for cracks and degradation
Brake
Since brakes wear over time, we recommend a periodic inspection every 30,000 miles. In addition to replacing the brake pads and break shoes, let's not forget to check the hydraulic system.
- Check for break fluid leakage
- Check for internal leakage
- Check for wear, leakage, and rust on brake calipers, as well as inspect seals for deterioration
- Inspect or exchange the master cylinder
- Check the brake light
Do you ever have any of these brake problems?
- A screeching or rumbling brake sound
- When you press the brake pedal, the pedal feels lighter or softer
- When applying the brake, the steering handle trembles or the brake pedal vibrates or pulsates
In the above cases, a brake job is required to fix uneven wear on the brakes.
Transmission
In the above cases, a brake job is required to fix uneven wear on the brakes.
- Check the transmission for oil leakage
- Check the transmission shift with a test drive
- Check the slip
- Inspection or repair of the transmission when there are unusual noises or issues
Electrical
It is important to check the alternator on a regular basis every 15,000 miles. Batteries have a finite life, so checking and replacing them every 3~4 years is recommended. We also check the engine light, headlights, brake lights, and turn signal lamps.
Tune-Up
We recommend regular tune up checks every 30,000~60,000 miles, or 100,000 miles.
- Inspect or exchange spark plugs, gas filter, air filter, distributor cap, rotor, plug wires, ignition, coil indicator, etc.
Check Engine Light
If your check engine light comes on, feel free to stop by and visit us.
We will perform a "free" inspection, diagnostics, and safety check.
- Inspection to check for gas cap tightening, vacuum hose cracking, etc.
A/C
We recommend replacing the A/C cabin filter every 30,000 miles.
If the air conditioning is not working properly, we will inspect the following:
- Inspection/replacement of fuses, electrical system
- Inspection/replacement of the blower motor
- Inspection/replacement of the compressor
- Inspection for leakage of CFCs in the air conditioning system
- Inspection of hoses
- Inspection of timing belt
Under Chassis
We recommend a periodic inspection every 7,500~15,000 miles.
- Tire check
- Alignment check
- Joint (ball-joint, U-joint) check
- Axle shaft check
- Front strut check
- Shock absorber bar check
- Axle and front end check
Flush Cooling System, Radiator
A periodic inspection every 30,000 miles is recommended.
- Cleaning/replacement of the cooling system/radiator
- Coolant replacement
- Check the water hose and belt for deterioration, cracking, and water leakage
